Virginia Youth Violence Project

Effective methods for youth violence prevention and school safety

The Virginia Youth Violence Project is supported by the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia.

Our work on student threat assessment was supported by a grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund. We thank Albemarle County Public Schools and Charlottesville City Public Schools for their cooperation and collaboration in field-testing our threat assessment guidelines.

We thank the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Center for School Safety of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services for their support and collaboration in our work.

Our work on the Virginia state needs assessment was supported by the Virginia Department of Health.

We would also like to thank all of the people and organizations that gave us permission to post articles or links to their work, such as Time and Newsweek.

We thank Ann Loper for constructing our original website and we thank Bobbi Collyer for making it possible for us to construct this website.
